Guildmark was founded on a simple idea: photography is a craft worth practicing with intention.
Founded by photographer and educator Sean Perry, Guildmark brings together photography, education, and publishing as parts of a single creative practice.
Sean's approach to photography begins with observation. Whether working on a commercial assignment, documenting a place, creating a personal body of work, or teaching another photographer, the goal is not simply to make attractive photographs.

Photographer
Sean's photographic practice spans commercial, editorial, landscape, and fine-art work. Across those different disciplines, the approach remains consistent: careful observation, thoughtful composition, respect for the subject, and attention to the details that give an image permanence.
Commercial work is approached as visual storytelling rather than simply content production. Personal and fine-art work provides room for exploration, study, and longer-form photographic projects.
Educator
Education is a fundamental part of Guildmark.
Through workshops, classes, critiques, and mentorship, Sean works with photographers who want to move beyond learning camera settings and begin developing a stronger understanding of photography as a visual language.
The emphasis is on learning how to see, how to evaluate photographs critically, how to make purposeful creative decisions, and ultimately how to develop work that reflects the photographer's own point of view.
Guildmark
Guildmark is intended to be more than a photography studio.
It is being built as a place for the practice, study, and appreciation of photography—bringing together commissioned work, personal projects, education, writing, and publishing.
Through the Journal, Learn, Editions, workshops, mentorship, and the Guildmark Dispatch, the goal is to create an ongoing conversation about photographs: how they are made, why they work, what they communicate, and what we can learn from them.
At its center is a respect for craft.
Not photography made simply to fill a feed or follow a trend, but work made deliberately—with curiosity, discipline, and attention.
